The history of an idea

1897

CARL SCHLÖSSER once recognized the need for safety fittings for the gas supply and gas lighting. In 1897 he founded the company and began the design and construction of these fittings.

1905-1914

CARL SCHLÖSSER was soon awarded various German and international patents.

1919

CARL SCHLÖSSER manufactured his gaskets needed for these mountings first out of materials such as leather, vulcanized fiber and rubber. After World War I he produced gaskets not only for his own business, but for the rising needs of the developing industry as well.

1928/29

At the end of the 1920s CARL SCHLÖSSER moved his company to the Upper Swabian town of Mengen.

1930

As the founder of the company CARL SCHLÖSSER died, his only 30 -year old daughter, Emmy Bok took over the management of the firm. The company was in the meantime specialized completely in the production of gaskets.

1951/52

The beginning of the 1950ths saw the building up of Schlösser´s own tool production. Over the years the company grew to a factor to be reckoned with in industry and commerce.

1959

Manfred Bok, the founder's grandson, followed in his grandfather´s footsteps. The company developed into one of the best known producers of gaskets and stamped parts

1994

Reinhard Adams was appointed as further Managing Director of the company SCHLÖSSER

1996

The production technology was expanded with the addition of water jet cutting.

1997

SCHLÖSSER celebrated its 100th anniversary. This anniversary as well as the company´s success were occasion for the management to continue investing in the future.

1998/99

In order to open up new development possibilities SCHLÖSSER expanded their production space with a new future-oriented building.

2001

As one of the first companies of its branche SCHLÖSSER was certified according to the ISO TS 16949 and to DIN ISO 9001.

2004

After an intensive introduction LOCKS works since early 2004 with the ERP software from SAP.

2006

SCHLÖSSER is certified according to the newest standard of ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS 16949:2002.
